Η πλειονότητα των σύγχρονων ανθρώπων σχεδόν δεν γνωρίζει οτιδήποτε για αυτήν την εξέλιξη. Η πλειονότητα πιστεύει έντονα ότι η απασχόληση μειώνεται στις αναπτυγμένες χώρες. Η πεποίθηση αυτή είναι λανθασμένη. Οι περισσότεροι έχουν την εντύπωση ότι μειώνονται και οι μισθωτοί· λάθος είναι κι αυτό. Η κοινή γνώμη θεωρεί ότι ο καπιταλισμός ενισχύει τους εργοδότες και τις επιχειρήσεις γενικά. Αυτή η αντίληψη είναι μεγαλύτερο σφάλμα σε σχέση με τα προαναφερθέντα: ο σύγχρονος καπιταλισμός ενισχύει μόνο τις μεγάλες επιχειρήσεις και καταστρέφει, σταδιακά τις μικρές και μεσαίες. Οι εργοδότες στον σύγχρονο κόσμο είναι λίγοι και θα γίνουν λιγότεροι (κάτω από 5% ή 2%). 

…The evolution of technology and work… 
The majority of modern people know nearly nothing for this evolution. This majority believes strongly that the employment decreases, in the developed countries. Their belief is wrong. The most people have the impression that employees (the wage-earners) decrease, too. It is a mistake. The public opinion is that capitalism reinforces the enterprises and the employers (the basic core of entrepreneurship), as a general trend. This mistake is even bigger than the previous. Modern capitalism reinforces only the large enterprises, and, at the same time, destroys the small and the medium enterprises. The employers in the modern world are few and they are going to be fewer (below of 5% or 2%).
